Helvetica Response

Before watching the film Helvetica, I had really never thought about who made the fonts I use on a regular basis. They were just there and convenient. It was interesting to see how people devote their entire working lives to typography. I never noticed that most signs and logos were actually in Helvetica. Since watching the video, I have definitely been looking at signs and billboards. It was interesting when one of the men in the video was talking about making written words look like the word itself. Another thing I found interesting was when one of the men said that the negative space between letters was more important than the letters themselves. One thing I can't understand is what the person who made Webdings was thinking.
